Each design is original; it is an expression of my appreciation for nature.

How long have you been in business?

I have been creating jewelry for twelve years and offering my work for sale within the past eight years.

What do you love about Edmonton?

The people, the Edmonton Public Library and their generosity to share knowledge, the great outdoor park spaces, the sunshine, the amazing summers, the push among its citizens to create more opportunities to increase the local market.

Welcome to On the Spot Pop Ups, Keri V. Leatherworks, so what do you make?

I design, cut and sew custom leather goods from purses and handbags to accessories, wallets for men and ladies, and satchels. Every item is made from hand-picked leather, usually upholstery hides, but sometimes I use other leather such as lamb and pigskin. Each is unique with it’s own characteristics. I design each item with functionality in mind, thinking about how they will be used and what they will be used for for years to come.

What makes your business unique?

Keri V. Leatherworks is a unique business in that I am it. Every item, from start to finish is my own creation. I love the thought of making a “functional art” that becomes a loved, well-worn piece that is a part of every-day life. Cherished, but not too precious to handle the every-day.

How long have you been in business?

I’ve been working with leather just coming up on four years this spring.

What do you love about Edmonton?

Over the past five years or so, I have really fallen in love with our Prairie City. I’m born and raised in Edmonton and area, and this lovely city just keeps getting better and better. We have pride in what we do and where we come from, and people really value items that are grown or crafted locally. Being a part of the handmade community has bee   n an inspiration – there are talented people in this city!!5

Welcome to On the Spot Pop Ups, Bouquet of Crochet, so what do you make?

We make crochet toys with personality!  From dinosaurs to sock monkeys to owls to octopuses, no two are the same.  We also make some kitchen accessories, bags, blankets, baby sets and other small gift items.

What makes your business unique?

Our business is unique in that we aren’t actually a business!  We’re a mom and daughter team, who are in it for the fun and not for the profit.  We just love crochet so much and want to share its awesome versatility with the world, we made so many things we had to start selling them!  We love the market scene and always have a great time.

How long have you been in business?

This summer marks the fourth year of our market adventures!

What do you love about Edmonton?

The people are Edmonton’s best feature!  Edmontonians are committed supporters of buying local, and can be depended to come together in the bad times, and celebrate together in the good.

I’ve been making/doing everything from tole painting, photography, jewelry, sewing purses/bags but right now I have been doing good old fashioned macramé with a new media: paracord.  I’ve been making survival bracelets, lanyards, dog leashes and collars.

What makes your business unique?

I have been looking at what others have been producing (mainly in the US) and it’s mostly one kind of knot called the Cobra.  I’ve branched out and learned many more interesting designs with the use of multiple colors.
